Vignoble Nicolas Therez, Cuvée Petit Louis Pinot Noir 2023

Pinot Noir from the Haute Vallée de l'Aude, an elevated part of Languedoc close to the Pyrenees. The cooler location suits this grape better than the warm southern plains. Organically farmed for over ten years, with hand-picking in 25 kg crates.

What you smell
Red fruit with cherry to the fore, a slightly spicy note leaning towards cinnamon.

What you taste
Smooth and approachable. The tannins are soft, so no dry feeling in your mouth, but just enough grip to keep it fresh. Light body, spicy finish. Ready to drink now, can be kept for three to five years.

How it's made
100% Pinot Noir from organically certified vineyards. Hand-harvested, yield limited to 35 hl/ha for more concentration.

Serving
Serve between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius. A Burgundy glass helps bring out the red fruit.

Pairs well with

  • Lamb tagine: the spicy cinnamon note in the wine complements the spices, and the soft tannins don't clash with the tender lamb.
  • Lentil Dahl: the fresh red fruit cuts through the earthy lentils, and the light body doesn't overpower the dish.
  • Soft cheeses such as brie or camembert: the smooth texture and low tannins allow the creamy cheese to shine.
