Terre d'Arenco, Anastasia 2023

A small production for those who prefer rosé with a bit more body. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 300 meters, on a soil of sand, limestone, and clay with fragments of stone. This combination gives the wine freshness and a saline note.

Aromas
Pastries: crème brûlée and cocoa beans. Behind that, small flowers and red fruit.

Palate
Fresh acidity and a saline, savory note that emerges only after the first sip. More structure than an average rosé, with a long, lingering finish.

Production Method
The Sangiovese ferments traditionally in stainless steel. The Pinot Noir ferments spontaneously in partly filled barriques under a layer of flor (yeast on the surface), which explains the bread and pastry notes.

Serving Suggestion
Serve at 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. Decanting is not necessary. A slightly wider wine glass allows the aromas to express themselves best.

Food Pairing

  • Pan-fried red mullet with almond and orange: the saline note and fresh acidity elevate the delicate seafood and sweetish sauce.
  • Veal sweetbreads with roasted hazelnuts: the body and pastry notes of the wine match the creamy, nutty texture.
  • Shellfish in broth: the saline, savory undertone perfectly complements the iodine of shellfish.
