Vantorosso, Vanni Bianco I.G.T. 2023

Vantorosso is a small winery nestled in the hills around Verona. The grapes for this white wine hail from volcanic soils in the Soave area, a blend of Garganega supplemented by the international varietals Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

What you smell
Chamomile, ripe peach, and citrus peel. Fresh and inviting, without pretension.

What you taste
Bright and juicy with a medium finish. The volcanic soil provides a salty, stony undertone that balances the fruitiness. Not heavy, yet with enough texture to hold your attention.

How it's made
Half of the wine matures in amphorae, the other half for four months in French oak. Then blended together. The result: freshness from the amphora, subtle creaminess from the wood.

Serving suggestion
Cool, between 8 and 10 degrees. No decanter needed. Also works perfectly as an aperitif.

Pairs well with

  • Grilled sea bass with lemon and thyme: the wine's salty undertone enhances the fish's brininess.
  • Scallop carpaccio: the freshness cuts through the richness, while the peach notes complement the sweetness of the shellfish.
  • Sushi or sashimi: bright enough not to overpower delicate flavors, with enough body for fattier fish like salmon.
