Es Fangar Vins, Sa Fita Blanc 2023

Es Fangar is an organically certified estate in the southeast of Mallorca, in the DO Pla i Llevant. Sa Fita is their white cuvée of Chardonnay and Viognier, both grapes vinified separately and then blended. The Mediterranean climate gives the wine a recognizable salty undertone.

What you smell
White fruit such as pear and peach, wildflowers and a slight herbal note in the background.

What you taste
Full and creamy on the palate, thanks to the Chardonnay, but the Viognier keeps it fresh with sharp, lively acidity. Long finish with a salty, stony aftertaste typical of Mallorca. Harmonious from start to finish.

How it's made
73% Chardonnay and 27% Viognier, organically grown and vegan vinified. Each grape variety is fermented and aged separately, so that the creaminess of the Chardonnay and the freshness of the Viognier retain their individual character before coming together.

Serve
Serve at 10 to 12°C in a large white wine glass. Decanting not necessary.

Pairs well with

  • Grilled sea bream with lemon and olive oil: the salty finish enhances the seafood, the fresh acidity cuts through the oil.
  • Risotto with roasted pumpkin and sage: the volume of the wine matches the creaminess, the herbal notes complement the sage.
  • Goat cheese with thyme and honey: the sharp acidity balances the fatty cheese, the floral notes enhance the honey.
